Wilma June Morton Braswell, 79, Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, August 28, in the Life Care Center of Elizabethton. She was born February 12, 1945 in Elizabethton to the late Albert & Liddie Carver Morton. Wilma was a homemaker, loved to work with crafts, Painting, Cross Word Puzzles and loved to read her Bible. In earlier years, she attended Keenburg Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: James William Braswell who passed away May 11, 2015, two sister: Tennie Mercer and Mary Morton and three brothers: Vester, Samuel and Robert "Bob" Morton.

Survivors include her daughter; Teresa Garland & husband Keith. Two Grandchildren: Amy Richardson Hicks & husband Joe and James Richardson. Two Great Grandchildren: Clyde and Emily Hicks. One Sister: Naomi Lafluer. Three special nieces: Joyce Whitehead, Judy Whitehead and Kimberly Fleanor. One special  great niece: Jessica Townsend.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, August 30, 2024 in Memorial Funeral Chapel. Graveside Service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2024 in Mountain Home National Cemetery (Historic Section) with Pastor Brandon Young officiating.  Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday will be: Keith Garland, Wayne Whitehead, Joe Hicks, Clyde Hicks, Scotty Parlier and Larry Whitehead, Jr.. The family wood like to express a special thank you to Jessica Townsend and Jessica Reece for the excellent care she received from them during her stay there. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday.
