William Daniel McClaskey,79, Hampton, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2026 at his residence. He was born June 22, 1949 in Dayton, Ohio, he was a son of the late James Douglas McClaskey and Geraldine Flinchbaugh Huskins. He was a graduate of Centerville High School, Centerville, Ohio. He had lived in Carter County for the past 50 years. In earlier years he was store manager at Winn-Dixie and he retired from International Paper. He loved hunting, fishing and volunteering as a coach with Elizabethton High School Fishing Team, in which he was so proud. He attended Rittertown Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister: Diane McClaskey.

Survivors include his wife: Tina Phillips McClaskey. Four Children: Christy McClaskey Roark, Danny (Angie) McClaskey, Jeremy (Erin) Chambers and Jon Chambers. His Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren who he loved dearly: Chelsea and Matt, Katie and Matt and Hunter and Sara. Great Grandchildren Dustin, Walker, Mason, Ava, Ila and Elijah. His Brother: Doug McClaskey. One Uncle Dick McClaskey of California and cousins Rick (Jennifer) McClaskey and Patti McClaskey. His special friends: Chris & Tina Oliver & C.J., Adam Williams, Zeb Roberts, Jacob Oliver and all of his fishing buddies.
