Vernon W. Hardin, 84, Knoxville, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024, at the University of Tennessee Hospital, Knoxville. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Gilbert & Sibilia Garland Hardin. He was a 1958 Graduate of Unaka High School and attended East Tennessee State University. He served in the United States Army. Vernon had lived 50 plus years in Knoxville. He retired in 2007 in Retail Management with Signet Group, worked at K-Jewelers at Johnson City Mail and also traveled with the Company for several years. He was preceded in death by several aunts and uncles. In earlier years he attended New Liberty Free Will Baptist Church on Stoney Creek. In Knoxville he attended the Apostles Anglican Church. He was preceded in death by a sister: Thelma Hardin.
Survivors include an Uncle: Doug Hardin, Elizabethton. Also several cousins.
Graveside Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2024 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Family and friends will assemble at the Cemetery at 1:45 p.m. Thursday. Condolences may be sent to the family at our web-site www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
