Valencia Renee Slemp Keisler, 66, Elizabethton, passed away Monday, April 15, 2024 in the Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness. She was born September 16, 1957 in Panama City, Florida, but had lived most of her life in Carter County. She was a graduate of Elizabethton High School. Valencia was retired from the Dispatch Department of the Carter County Sheriff Department. She loved to work with crafts and paintings. She was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher of the 5 to 7 year olds.  She was preceded in death by her father Hasferd Slemp and a brother: Greg Slemp.

Survivors include her husband: Clyde Keisler. Two Children: Neil Greenwell and wife Wendy and Shana Brower and friend: Robert Gentry. Two Grandchildren: Donavon and Maysan Brower. Her Mother: Jean Fair Slemp. Several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins  Two Step-Sons: Alex Keisler and Zachery Keisler.

Graveside Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2024 in Happy Valley Memorial Park with the Rev. Kevin Slemp and Rev. Jack Greenoe  officiating. Active Pallbearers will be: Neil Greenwell, Donavon Brower, Robert Gentry, Doug Vandeventer, Alex Keisler, Bradley Gentry, Todd Bennett, Timmy Wise, Mike Carlock, Mark Carrier, and Glen Keisler. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Scotty Slemp, Scott Elrod, Brandon Tuelle, Jonathan Huckeba, John Carter Members of the Carter County Sheriff Department and  members of The Carter County 911. The family would like to express a special thank you to Doug Vandeventer, Amy Wooten The staff of Johnson City Medical Center and her church family for all the support and prayers during her illness. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the "We Love Our Church", Oak Street Baptist Church, 804Oak Street, Elizabethton, Tenn. 37643. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 Thursday, prior to the Graveside Service.
