Tonia Jean Hughes, 74, passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of December 25th, 2025, in Johnson City, Tennessee. Born in Cranberry, North Carolina, Tonia lived a life full of kindness, compassion, and devotion to her family and friends. She was known for her warm smile, her love for an occasional daiquiri, and her unwavering support for those around her. To know her, was to love her.

Tonia, lovingly called Toni-Jean, had many passions that brought joy to her life. She loved the beach, exploring the outdoors, savoring a good meal, shopping for treasures, cooking delicious meals, and most of all, spending time with her family and friends. These simple pleasures reflected her vibrant and sprightly spirit, as well as her appreciation for life's beauty.

She is survived by her son, Shawn Hughes; her sisters, Deborah, Sheila, Kimberly, Peggy, and Sandy; and her grandchildren, Breanna, Chelsy, Ethan, Khloe, Zylan, Hunter, Ashlyn, and Andon. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Roger Hughes; her brother, Randy Odom; and her son, Christopher Hughes. Her legacy of love will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 12 Noon Friday, January 2, 2026 in Memorial Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the service at 12 noon. Interment will follow in the Cranberry Cemetery, Elk Park, North Carolina. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
