Thomas Player Cooper, 55, Elizabethton, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2026, in the Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport. He was born December 31, 1970, in Richmond, Virginia to the late Seth Cooper & Barbara McInturff Collins. He had lived most of his life in Carter County. He attended Happy Valley High School. He was retired from Star Builders as a Welder. He loved spending time with his family, fishing, camping and working on Small Engines. He attended God's House.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years: Betty Arnett Cooper. Four Daughters: Brittany (Manuel) Simerly, Whittany (Adam) Triplett, Dekodha (Caleb) Gross and Jessica Phillips. Three very special grandsons: Owen Simerly, Samuel Triplett, Jackson Triplett and one on the way and additional 5 grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews. Two Special Sisters-In-Law: Penny Hill and Renee Roberson. Two Nieces: Madison Hill and Melena Heaton and a special Nephew: T.J. Roberson.

Graveside Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2026, in the Largent Cemetery, Bear Cage Road, Roan Mountain with Pastor James Hill officiating. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Thursday will be: Caleb Gross, Manuel Simerly, Adam Triplett, Kalway Heaton, Tommy Roberson, T.J. Roberson, James Hill and Chris Oliver. The family would like to express a special thank you to the ICU Nursing Staff of Holston Valley Medical Center.
