Terry Gene Richardson

gained his heavenly wings Monday, July, 21, at the Johnson City Medical Center.


Terry Richardson was a devoted servant of God, a loving Father, Pappy, Brother, friend and a steadfast example of Christian grace, humility, and strength. Born on October 29, 1957. He dedicated his life to walking with Christ and sharing His love with everyone he encountered. He was Pastor of Sunset Freewill Baptist Church. His life was a living testimony to God's goodness and mercy, always guided by prayer and the Word. Terry is preceded in death by his wife Melissa Richardson, Mother Betty Richardson, and Brothers Dallas Richardson and Doug Richardson. He is survived by his devoted daughter Rachel Richardson Laws (Jerry Street), his precious grandchildren Brianna Jenkins (Dustin Jenkins) and Bryson Laws, his sisters, Kim Richardson, Donna Fritts (Jim Fritts) , Lela Fuller (Bill Fuller), Vicki Fuller (Mark Fuller), Linda Perkins (Bo Perkins), Tresa Jones (Doug Jones), His loving Fiance Angela Odom, special sister- in- law Mona Letterman, sister- in- law Patti Whitson (Brad Whitson), Several other nieces and nephews and his church family.


His family would like to extend a special thank you to the ICU nurses on the 2600 wing at the Johnson City Medical Center. Per Terry's wishes a private graveside service was held at the McKinney Cemetery in Elizabethton, TN. Preacher Bo Perkins and Preacher Charlie Trivette will officiate and singing will be performed by Vanessa Cox and Joel Crisp. Pallbearers are Bryson Laws, Dustin Jenkins, Jerry Street, Chris Fuller, Robert Fuller, Ben Fuller, Timmy Fuller, and David Richardson. Memorial Funeral Chapel is serving the Richardson family.

Though our hearts mourn this great loss, we rejoice in knowing that Terry  is now in the presence of the Savior, where there is no more pain, sorrow, or suffering.

As Revelation 21:4 reminds us:

"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying..."
