Steven Glen Whitehead, 67, Roan Mountain, passed away Monday, December 4, 2023 at his residence. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Gurney & Ruby Roberson Whitehead. Mr. Whitehead loved Mopars, working on cars, watching old westerns and drag racing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter: Racheal Whitehead.

Survivors include his lifetime partner: Donna Hill of the home, One Daughter: Jessica (Josh) Hackett. Three Brothers: Mike (Teresa) Whitehead of Elizabethton, Larry (Joyce) Whitehead and Roger (Phyllis) Whitehead all of Roan Mountain. Two Sisters: Carol Hill of Elizabethton and Patricia (Buzz) Glover of Hampton. Two Grandchildren: Seth (Michayla) Woodby and Chase (Maygen) Woodby of Elizabethton. Three Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, December 8, 2023 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Gary Whitehead officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehead Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be: Randy Hatley, Seth Woodby, Chase Woodby, Larry Whitehead, Roger Whitehead, Leslie Roberson and Larry (Junior) Whitehead. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home prior to the service. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Ballad Health Hospice Nurses Greg and Candace.
