Shona Melissa Smith, 56, Hampton passed away Friday, December 19, 2025, in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. She was born August 31, 1969, in Carter County to to the late George R. and Pauline Honeycutt Smith. She was a graduate of Hampton High School. She was a former employee of Citizens Bank. She was a member of Rittertown Baptist Church.

Survivors include Her Daughter: Shelbie Morgan, Her Fiancé: Rick McCurry. One Sister: Alesia Ramsey. One Nephew: Seth Ramsey. A special friend: Nancy Street and her cat "Annie."

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at Rittertown Baptist Church with Pastor Ronnie Campbell and Paston Richard Stout officiating. Interment will follow in Rittertown Baptist Church Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be: Jeff Dennison, Toby Guinn, Joseph Campbell, Ritchey Harris, Mike Smith and Brandon Snyder Honorary Pallbearers will be: Jerry Street, Garry Smith. Jack Smith, Jerry "Tip" Smith, Ned Smith and Josh Smith.
