Obituary

Shirley Miller, 78, of Roan Mountain, peacefully transitioned to be with the Lord on October 13th at the Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness. She is a native of Roan Mountain, Tennessee, the daughter of Oronda and Sylvia Hughes. She loved spending quality time with her family, indulging in shopping, going on road trips, and cheering at ballgames. At home, you would find her enjoying a lifetime movie. Her greatest joy came from showering her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with love. Shirley was a retiree from the Grandfather Golf and Country Club. She was of the Freewill Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and best friend, Charlie Miller, as well as several siblings.

Those left to cherish her memory are: One son and special daughter-in-law Tony and Kim Miller. Her grandchildren: Natasha (Brandon) Wooten and Anthony Miller. Great Grandchildren: McKenzie and McKenlie Wooten. Siblings: Harland (Layla) Hughes and Ronnie (Sharon) Hughes. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, with special acknowledgment to Lori Powell and Karen Julian for their loving care. She had a deep affection for her best friend, Patsy Blackwell, friend Lisa Buck, and Nurse Practitioner Joey Hunsinger, who always provided exceptional support.

The Family will receive family and friends at Memorial Funeral Chapel from 1-2 p.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2024 and at 2 p.m. everyone will go in procession to the cemetery.
