Shirley Fay (Oaks) Guy, age 87 of Hampton, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 20, 2026. Born on May 1, 1938, in Carter County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Minnie Winters.

In addition to her mother, Shirley was preceded in death by her first husband, Clyde Oaks: her second husband, Coy Guy: her daughter, Vicky Roberts; her son, Sammy Oaks; her sisters, Jean Shell and Nella Mae Jones; and her grandson, Chad Stout.

Shirley was a wonderful homemaker who devoted her life to her family and raised six children. She loved attending church and listening to gospel music, especially the Gaithers. Shirley also had a deep love for the piano and played as often as she could. In her free time, she enjoyed shopping for her favorite outfits and always took pride in having her hair and makeup just right.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory include her sister, Elizabeth Heaton of North Carolina; her children, Pamela Stout and husband Jerry of Roan Mountain, Donna Goff of Hampton, Johnny Oaks and wife Teresa, and Debbie Potter and husband Ronnie, all of Roan Mountain; her grandchildren, Tommy, Joey, Jennifer, Tracy, Heather, Josh, Matt, Casey, and Jason; a special great granddaughter, Christin Lowery; several great-grandchildren including Dameon and Neveah; her great-great grandchildren, Skylar and Ryker; along with several nieces and nephews.

A Service to Celebrate the life of Shirley will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2026 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jerry Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Caraway Cemetery, Roan Mountain. Active Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday prior to the service. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Choices for all their help and care, especially Lisa.
