Shirlene Clawson White of Elizabethton passed away Sunday, September 3, 2023 at her residence. She was born in Avery County, North Carolina to the late Luther Clawson & Mary Trivette Clawson Johnson. She had lived most of her life in Carter County. She attended Hampton High School. Shirlene retired from North American Rayon Corporation. She loved to quilt, sew and watch gunsmoke. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son: Bill Austin and Two Sisters: Lutherene Richardson and Bernice Deloach.

Survivors include her husband: Andy White. A Daughter : Connie Hicks Collins and husband Bobby. Three Grandsons: Bud Hicks, Brandon Collins and Bryant Collins. Two Granddaughters: Allison Austin and Andrea Austin. Two Sisters: Alma Townsend & Husband James and Andre Greer. A Special Niece: Mary Jane McKinney.

Graveside Service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, September 7, 2023 in Happy Valley Memorial Park with Pastor Estel Williams officiating. Active Pallbearers will be: Bobby Collins, Greg Hicks, Brandon Collins, Bryant Collins, Bud Hicks, Chase Frye, Paul White and John White. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Medical Care. Savannah Whitehead and the staff of Amedisys Hospice.
