Sarah K. "Hink" Ward, 76, of Elizabethton went to be with her Lord on Saturday, June 28th, 2025. She was born April 27th, 1949 in Bristol, VA. to the late Tom and Pearl Hinkle.

She was a member of Cedar Grove Freewill Baptist Church of Bluff City for 48 years, where she served as church clerk and treasurer. Sarah was a member of Bluff City Chapter #414 Order of Eastern Star for 44 years.

In addition to her parents, Sarah is preceded in death by her sister, Katherine Jones, two nieces, Sherry Hinkle and Kim Shaffer, two great nephews, James and Freddy Cox Jr., and one great-great nephew, Austin Owens. Her sister-in-law, Marilyn Ward and Natalie Younce (whom she considered a daughter), and two brothers-in-law, Randy Puett, Hugh Jones, and cousin J.C. Depew Jr. (whom she considered a brother).

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 37 years, Gerald Ward; sons, J. Darrell Nave Sr. (Karen) and Spencer "Bo" Nave (Bobbie Gail). Sister: Linda Puett;  Her grandchildren, J.D. Nave Jr., Juergen T. Nave, Brianna Mech (Tanner), Spencer Nave IV (Jasmine), Daniel Younce, Katie Stevens, and J.T. Stevens (Lindsay). 10 great-grandchildren, her brother-in-law, Gary W. Ward, best friend, Wanda Heaton, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and  her Grand-Dog; Sarah- Kata.

Funeral services for Sarah will be held at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Elizabethton on Thursday, July 3rd, 2025 at 3:00pm with Pastor Darryl Bailey officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:45pm prior to the service. Interment will follow at Sunrise Cemetery in Bluff City. Pallbearers will be, J.D. Nave Jr., Juergen T. Nave, Spencer Nave IV, Daniel Younce, Tanner Mech, and Keith Younce.

The family would like to extend a special appreciation to Gary and Paula Vance, Dr. David Freeman, Dr. Keith Cook, employees of Sycamore Drive-In, Nancy's Kitchen, Nanny's Kitchen, Amedisys Home Health Care, Brittany Emmert, Megan Long, and Carter County EMS. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Rd., Greenville, SC. 29605-4255.
