Sandra Lou Colbaugh Street, 83, Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2026 in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. She was born June 18, 1942 in Carter County to the late Clyde & Virna Hyder Colbaugh Peters. Sandra was a 1960 graduate of Unaka High School and East Tennessee State College with a degree in Education. She was a teacher at Unaka High School for over 30 years. She loved art and writing poetry . She was a member of Little Doe Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harold Street, November 12, 2017 and two brothers: Roger and Dewey Colbaugh.
Survivors include Two Sons: Jason (Sherry) Street, Johnson City and Chad Robert Street of the home. Two Grandchildren: Tatum Street and Jonathan Webb. One Great Granddaughter: Luna Ojeda. One Sister: Sue Alderson. Several nieces, nephews and cousins. Two Sisters-in-Law: Jennifer Colbaugh and Roberta Jones.
A Service to Celebrate the life of Sandra will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 02 , 2026 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Brett Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Blevins Cemetery. Active Pallbeares will be: Ryan Alderson, Anthony Murray, Shawn Bright, Dylan Ward, Jonathan Webb, Tatum Street, Joe Street and Phillip Peters. Honorary Pallbearers: Chuck Hyder, Jeremy Colbaugh, Andy Colbaugh, Mike Carter, Class of 1960 at Unaka High School, and former students and staff of Unaka High School. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Life Care Center of Elizabethton and April Williams for the excellent care she received.
