Sandra Smalling Stophel, Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord Friday, February 24, 2023 at 9:50 p.m. at the Johnson City Medical Center. She passed away due to complications of surgery. She was a daughter of the late Charles & Amanda Bowers Smalling. She was of the Baptist Faith and a member of Caldwell Springs Baptist Church. She worked at the Old Chair Factory for many years. Sandra loved animals and music and working out in her yard . Her favorite seasons were spring and fall but most of all she loved being a grandma. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister: Marcella Markland and a brother: Larry Smalling. Even though she onlyhad one child, she was a mother to many and loved each and everyone of them dearly. She always said you never know who might be an angel, so never turn anyone away.
Survivors include her daughter: Amanda Baize and son-in-law: Wendell Baize and her only grandson: Levi Baize several nieces and nephews and three special ladies she loved dearly: Lindsey Perry, Tabitha Turner and Ashley Lo uria and her two fur babies Carmel and B andit.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2023 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Brandon Young officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Norman Parlier, Michael Greenwell, Sr., John Markland, David Markland, Noah Markland, Gary Markland, Aurthor Sevens, James Stevens and Timothy Pendleberry, Delany Scalf, Scott Scalf, Randall Taylor, Adam Powell, Thomas Cox, Jr.and Jodie Stonecypher.
