Roy Albert
Perry, Jr.
May 22, 1981 — Mar 11, 2025
Roy "Squirrel" Perry Jr.
Squirrel was called Home on March 11, 2025, after a brief illness. Born on May 22, 1981, to the late Diane (Dugger) Perry and Roy Perry Sr., he lived his life in Elizabethton, TN. Squirrel was also preceded in death by one sister, Angie Morgan, and a brother, Johnny Hicks.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Melissia Perry; son Jayden Perry; daughters Madison Perry and Angel Heath; and one granddaughter, Mavis, all of Elizabethton; brothers Scottie Hicks and wife Kristi, Kingsport; Keith Hicks and wife Becky, Johnson City, TN; nephews Jacob Roberts and Hailey, Johnson City; Bubba Morgan and wife Erica, Elizabethton; Dustin Statham and Kenneth Allen, Johnson City; nieces Ashley Fleenor and Harold; Charity Statham, Elizabethton; Brea Hicks and Skylar Hicks, Kingsport; special brothers Derrick McInturf, Matt Severns, Chris Johnson and James Bennet. Also, his two "stoopid" pitbulls, Harley and Cane.
Squirrel was truly one of a kind and will be missed by numerous friends and family throughout the community. He could always be counted upon to help out any who asked, no favor too big or small. His interests ranged from building and adding to his collections of "Fast and Furious" cars to Jordan sneakers. In his free time, he enjoyed tinkering with various vehicles ranging from low riders, to motorcycles, to mini trucks and more. Squirrel's passion was his family, though, and being the "Super Basketball Dad" to both Jayden and Maddie. Squirrel's many loves extended to chocolate and peanut butter; he was a Reece's Cup lover at its finest.
With a bright, friendly smile, Squirrel was handy with a joke to tell, often ending with one of his favorite quotes, " It's alright; it's ok; it's no problem." His army will always have him in their thoughts and the family would like to thank everyone for the love and support they've shown.
Services will be March 18 at Memorial Funeral Chapel, Elizabethton. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm. Funeral service will follow at 7pm with Pastor Brandon Young of Harmony Freewill Baptist Church officiating. There will be no graveside service. Squirrel's wishes were to be cremated and his ashes be kept with those of his parents and family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family to help with expenses. Condolences can be made at their home, 205 Franklin Lane, Elizabethton, TN, 37643, or sent to the family at our website: www.memorialfcelizabethton.com
