Rosetta Whitson Walsh, lovingly known as Rose, was born on May 9, 1939, in Erwin, Tennessee, to the late Robert and Violet Whitson. She passed away surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of faith, devotion, and quiet strength.

In addition to her parents, Rosetta was preceded in death by her beloved husband, J.D. Walsh; her brothers Rassie, Robert, Ralph, and Ray Whitson; and her sister, Ruth Whitson Moseley.

She is survived by her two daughters, Robin Montgomery (Chip) and Anette LeVeau (David). She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Zach Montgomery (Hannah), Wes Montgomery (Lauren), Erin Contreras (Sylvester), Emily Blair (Will), Bailey Broyles (Mitch), Hunter LeVeau (Olivia), and Jordyn Rice (Hunter). She was blessed with great-grandchildren Landon, Avery, Ollie, Judd, Walker, Kiser, Emerie, Myah, Mason, Myles, and Andi Kate, arriving in April. Rosetta is also survived by her sisters Ruby Letterman and Rita Honeycutt, her brother Bill Whitson (Anne), and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Rosetta was a devoted homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family. She was a wonderful cook, a skilled seamstress, an avid gardener, and someone who always kept her home immaculate. Her attention to detail and love for beauty were evident in everything she did. She was active in her church, Valley Forge Free Will Baptist, where her faith was a guiding force throughout her life. Above all else, Rosetta cherished her time with family, finding her greatest joy in gathering loved ones together and creating a warm, welcoming home filled with love.

Rosetta passed on to be with Jesus and join her beloved husband, Jay, in the Heavenly choir. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Services will be held at Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church with Pastors Randy Johnson and Mark Potter leading the service, and music by the family. Receiving of friends will be Sunday, December 28, 2025 from 1-2 PM with the funeral service at 2 PM.  The graveside service will immediately follow the funeral at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be the grandsons.
