Roby H. Miller, 63, Roan Mountain, passed away at home on Sunday, April 6, 2025 after a lenghty illness. He was born July 15, 1961 in Elizabethton to the late Dan Miller and Betty Jean Hopson Potter, step-dad, Phil Potter and Denny Fields. He was a retired mechanic. He loved to hunt, fish, go camping and work on cars. He was a member of the Watauga Volunteer Fire Department for 10 years.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years: Glenda Sluder Miller. One Daughter: Wendy Flesher and husband Henry. One Son: Daniel Miller. A Step-Son: Chris Williams. Eight Grandchildren: Nathaniel/Raven, Isaiah, Levi, Noah, Isabella, Serenity, Addison and Kirsten. A Brother: Charlie Dan Miller, Two Sisters: Armetta Wright and Dennie Fields. A Sister and Brother-in-law: Ginger & Ed Cobb and his father-in-law: Winfred "Dink" Sluder. His four legged furry friend "Buttons".
Graveside Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2025 in the Isaac Cemetery, Roan Mountain with Chaplain Chris Hughes officiating. His Grandson: Nathaniel Flesher will also speak. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 12:15 p.m. Friday will be: Henry Flesher, Nate Flesher, Jeremy Odom, Ed Cobb, Kenneth Lee Silvers and Joe Barnes. Honorary Pallbearers will be his special friends: Tim Lewis, Tim Lingerfelt, Ray Blair, Rudolph Campbell, Kenneth Silvers, Speedy Sluder and Gladys and Bud McClain. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Gentiva Hospice, especially: Grace, Tammy, Penny, Chris and Felicia. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 12:15 p.m. Friday to go in procession to the cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at our web-site www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
