Robert F. Mitchell, Jr., 82, Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, October 5, 2023 in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended illness. Bob was a member of Bible Baptist Church, Elizabethton. He served in the United States Navy from 1962–1972 and the National Guard for three years. He loved to fish and be outdoors. Bob was a good husband and father.

In addition to his parents, Will & Mary Lucy Gralle Guinn, he was preceded in death by two brothers: James Guinn and Weaver Guinn and one sister: Virginia Heaton.

He is survived by his wife: Cathryn Bowers Mitchell, Two Daughters: Kathy Beam, Elizabethton and Regina (Dale) Milliken, Hampton. One Son: James Bowers, Elizabethton. Five Grandchildren: Kaylee and Bradley Beam, Shane and Shawn Milliken and Matthew Bowers. Three Brothers: Junior (Judy) Guinn, Elizabethton, Burchel (Candy) Guinn, Friendship, Tenn. and George Guinn, Coeburn, Virginia. Three Sisters: Carrie Hill, and Patsy Arnett both Elizabethton, and Mary Ann Burrow, Orangedale, Ca..

Graveside Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 11, 2023 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery with Pastor Frank Osborne officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Military Honors will be provided. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery(Historic Section) at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the donors favorite charity.
