Obituary

A friend to all, a stranger to none, and a life that will never be forgotten.”

Robert Douglas “Doug” Frazier, 76, of Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, October 28th, 2026 following a brief illness.

Doug was born September 8, 1950, to the late Ron and Mary Ellen Anderson and the late Fred Frazier. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Wagner and niece Ronda Kiser.

Lovingly known to many as “Uncle Doug” or “Fatboy,” Doug was a Christian and a beloved friend to countless people throughout the Elizabethton community. Following his retirement from the City of Elizabethton, he spent many mornings enjoying breakfast with friends at Kimbo’s, where there was always room at his table for one more. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and spent many years involved in Elizabethton Parks and Recreation leagues as both a player and spectator.

Doug’s nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews were the apples of his eye. He spent years loving, supporting, and cheering them on through every stage of their lives.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved siblings: Wes Frazier (Betty), Rondal Anderson (Debbie), Larry Absher (Holly), Jeanette Stevens, Arlene “Yokie” Absher (Larry Sr.), Elizabeth “Libby” Stout (Kevin), Jacqueline “Jackie” Woodward (Richard “Woody”), and Beverly Davenport; his brothers-in-law, Darrell Wagner and Richard Davenport; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Doug was a loyal man with a heart of gold who never met a stranger. He leaves behind countless friendships, cherished memories, and a community that will not be the same without him. He will be missed immensely and never forgotten.
