Obituary

Robert Chris "Bob" Carroll, 71, Johnson City, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2026 in the Johnson City Medical Center. He was born April 24, 1954 in Johnson City to the late Dewey & Jessie Dunn Carroll. He was a graduate of Happy Valley High School. Bob served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era.  He was employed by the Carter County School System for 40 years as a Bus Driver. Bob had served as a Constable in the 8th District of Carter County since 1974. He also had served in the Tennessee Constable Association two terms as Executive Director and CEO. He was also a founding member of the West Carter County Volunteer Fire Department serving since 1971. He was a member of Hampton Masonic Lodge # 750 and  Jericho Shrine Temple for 30 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Shirley Mynatt. He was a member of Sinking Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife: Lynn Henson Carroll. Six Children: Chris (Kim) Carroll, Cynthia Fenner, April Fe nner, Candi Carroll and Friend Joel Etter, Alex (Tara) Carroll, and Jessie (Brandon) Hodges, 12 Grandchildren. One Brother: Lynn (Sandra) Carroll. Several nieces and nephews. His Brother-in-Law: Ted Mynatt.

A Service to Celebrate the life of Robert will be conducted at 6 p.m. Thursday, January 29, 2026 in the Sinking Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Chuck Babb Pastor Ray Amos and pastor Josh Kodak officiating. Graveside Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, January 30, 2026 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery (Historic Section).  Active Pallbearers will be selected from Constables of Carter County and member of the West Carter County Fire Department. Honorary Pallbearers will be Alex Carroll and Harvey Shaffer. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday in the Sinking Creek Baptist Church .Hampton Masonic Lodge will have a Memorial Service at the cemetery. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Friday to go in procession to the cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the  family at our web-site www.memorialfcelizabethton.om.
