Robert (Mouse) Eugene Banner, Sr, age 81 of Roan Mountain, TN, entered his Heavenly home on January 22,2026. Born in Hampton, TN on January 23, 1944 to the late Roy and Lula Banner. Proceeded in death by his brothers Quinton "Cub" Banner, Jack Banner, Don Banner and sister Marie Waycaster. Robert was a proud United States Veteran who served in the Unites States Army during the Vietnam War where he received many medals and awards including the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and a friend to many.
Robert is survived by his children Kimberly and David Heaton, Robert (Junior) and Kimberly Banner, Randy Banner, and Justin and Kinzie Banner. Additional survivors include his brother Bob and Jill Burrow, sister Ethel and Dewayne Guinn, sister in law Katie Banner. His granddaughters Davi and Adam Bowers, Sydni and Collin Thomas and Jami and Jacob Phillips. Great grandchildren Brayln and Callen Banner, Hadley, Jaxon and Casen Bowers, Ellie Phillips, Kinsley Thomas and June's boys Parker and Patton Lundy.
Funeral Service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2026 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Terry Steele officiating. The eulogy will be given by Doug Blevins. Graveside Service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2026 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery (Historic Section).Active Pallbearers will be: Robert Banner, Jr., Justin Banner, Randy Banner, Bob Burrow, Toby Taylor and RL Edwards. Honorary Pallbearers: Joe Hill and Randy Hill. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service. Military Honors will be provided. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 12:50 p.m. Wednesday. Condolences may be sent to the family at our web-site www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
