Richard Hugh Donnelly, 89, of Elizabethton, went to be with his Lord, January 1, 2025 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Pauline Donnelly Estep and step-son of the late Marshall Estep.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Charlotte Jean Estep Donnelly and two sons: Richard Alan and James Roger.

Richard was a 1953 graduate of Unaka High School. He was a Veteran of the US Air Force, serving 20 years on active duty and another 26 years as an IT Consultant.

He was a member of Duncan Chapel Baptist Church, where he served as Trustee, Deacon and Sunday School Teacher.

Survivors include his daughter & son-in-law: Vickie Donnelly Duplissey & Michael Hilton, Dallas, North Carolina. A Grandson: Richard Sean Donnelly, Sherrills Ford, North Carolina..

A Graveside Service to honor the life of Richard Hugh Donnelly will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, January 6, 2025 in the Garland Cemetery with Pastor Teddy Lewis officiating. Active Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Music will be provided by Dale Williams.
