Richard Butler Bostick, age 88, of Elizabethton, Tennessee formerly of Beaufort, South Carolina passed away on Monday, January 1, 2024 at home with his wife by his side. Richard had lived in Elizabethton for several years. He had served in the United States Navy. Richard attended the University of South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his father, Maner Lawton Bostick; mother, Mary Butler Bostick; brother, Maner Lawton Bostick, Jr.; a sister, Betty Bostick Haigh. He was a member of Central Baptist Church, Johnson City. His hobby was oil painting.

He is survived by his wife: Susan S. Bostick, three children: Gregory Britton Bostick, Frederick Manor Bostick and Mary Elizabeth Bostick Houx. A Step-Daughter: Karen Rorrer Smith, 12 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren. A special niece and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Central Baptist Church, Johnson City. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Richard to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN  38105-9959.
