Regina Darlene Hanson, 62, Johnson City, peacefully entered the Kingdom of Heaven surrounded by her family on Friday, October 31, 2025, following a brief illness. She was born July 18, 1963, in Harlan, Kentucky to the late Bilford "Speck" Cody and Vina Catherine Saylor Cody. She lived in Tennessee since 1990. She loved reading, going to church, and spending time with her family. She attended Prayer Tabernacle. One of her greatest joys in life was spending time with her granddaughter, Ava Grace, who she called "her baby", and loved with all her heart. Her sister, Connie, was her best friend. They spent every day together laughing, loving, and making special memories. Her two sons, Chris and Cody, were her pride and joy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Wayne and Bobby McCutcheon; and one sister: Edna Ruth McCutcheon.
Survivors include two sons: Chris Hanson and wife Jennifer, Cody Farley and fiance Samantha Maney; one granddaughter: Ava Grace Hanson, one step granddaughter: Samira Ebanks; one sister: Connie Bailey and husband Roger; four brothers: George Cody and wife Lisa, Lonnie McCutcheon, Rick Cody, William McCutcheon; and several nieces and nephews.
A Service to Celebrate the life of Regina will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2025, in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Dr. Alan King officiating. Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family would like to express a very special thank you to the doctors and nurses of the UT Cancer Institute, Primary Care PA Ashley Seaton, and special friends Lori Smithdeal and Fred Harrison. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service. Condolences may be sent to the family at our web-site www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
