Obituary

Rebecca Michelle "Becky" Bunten, 53, Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord Sunday, March 5, 2023 at her residence. She was born October 29, 1969 in Johnson City. She was a graduate of Elizabethton High School. Prior to her illness she was employed at AY McDonald. Becky was a member of East Side Free Will Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She loved to read her Bible and sing. She was preceded in death by her father William "Bill" Bunten and her brother: Gilbert Bunten.

Survivors include her mother: Mary Lou Vance Bunten. Two Sisters: Geneva (Jack) Hoss and Margie (Jeff) Nelson all of Elizabethton. Two Brothers: Bill (Donna) Bunten, Chattanooga and Brad (Jennie) Bunten, Bluff City. Several nieces and nephews who were like her children.

A Service to Celebrate the Life of Becky Bunten will be conducted at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2023 in the East Side Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Justin Deaton and Pastor Charlie Trivette officiating. Music wil l be provided by the Church Choir and A bbie Harris. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 12 noon Thursday, March 9, 2023 in the Richardson Cemetery (Shell Creek). Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the church at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday and at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Thursday will be: Kenneth Higgins, Adam Williams, Jason Thompson, Nick McNeal, Brian Pierce, Jeff ery Nelson, Will Bunten and Brodyn Pierce. Honorary Pallbearers will be her church family and a special friend David Russell. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Caris Hospice , Abbie Harris, her two sisters and nieces The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the East Side Free Will Baptist Church.
