Raymond Tom Thomas, 74, Roan Mountain, passed away, Thursday, September 11, 2025, at his residence after an extended illness. He was born September 4, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Walter and Beatrice Powers Thomas. He had lived in Deer Lodge, Tenn. before coming to Carter County in 1983. He was a Millwright. He also had worked at Maupins Shell. He was of the Lutheran Faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and four brothers.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years: Teresa Brown Thomas. Several nieces and nephews. Also, his dog "Sammy" and his cat" Meow Meow"

Graveside Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2025, in Happy Valley Memorial Park with Pastor Richard Stout officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family would like to express a special thank you to Lisa and Mark Gwyn, The Staff of Gentiva Hospice, Grace, Julie, Penny, Tammy and Felicia, The Staff of Carter County EMS, Members of the Carter County Sheriff Department and all his neighbors and friends.
