Raymond Arthur Perkinson, 79, Johnson City, passed away, Saturday, July 20, 2024 at his residence. He was born April 24, 1945 in Petersburg, Virginia and had lived in East Tennessee for the past 57 years. He served in the United States Army. He was retired from Tennessee Eastman. His hobbies were Golf, mowing yards, hunting and fishing. He was an avid UT Fan. He was a member of MM Martin Masonic Lodge, Piney Flats and the DAV. He was a member and Deacon of Freedom Road Baptist Church, where he was a Sunday School Teacher and part time Minister. He was preceded in death by his father: Raymond Howard Perkinson, his step-father: Marshall Campbell, a brother: Roger Perkinson and a sister: Diane Perkinson.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years: Linda Whaley Perkinson. Four Children: James R. and Mark, and James M. all of Johnson City and Ronnie of Alaska. His Mother: Mary Campbell, Ettrick, Virginia. Three Grandchildren: Hunter, Dillon and Raiden. Two Great Grandchildren. One Sister: Jean Perkinson, Ettrick, Virginia.
Graveside Service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at Mountain Home National Cemetery (Historic Section) with Pastor Steve Wilson officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Military Honors will be provided. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at
