Phyllis Ann Potter, 78, Elk Park, North Carolina, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2026 at her residence. She was born January 15, 1948 in Crossmore, North Carolina to the late Plato & Nina Fields Hicks. She was a graduate of Crossnore High School and attended Lees-McRae College, Banner Elk, North Carolina. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant. She had previously worked at Ivy Hall Nursing Home and Pine Ridge Nursing Home. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, G.W. Hughes and her second husband: Homer Potter, One Brother William Hicks and two sisters: Ula Ward and Evelyn Harmon. She was a member of Long Hollow Missionary Baptist Church, Elizabethton. She had served as Treasurer for several years.

Survivors include One Son and daughter-in-law: Oronda Westley and Shawna Hughes, Butler, Tenn. Six Grandchildren: Draven Brown, Tristan Hughes, Autumn Hughes, Tristan Correll, Madrea Hughes and Shelby Hughes. Her Sister-In-Law: Betty Jo Hicks. One Niece: Belinda Goins and Two Nephews: Timmy and Doug Harmon.
