Phillip Dean Shaffer, Sr., 74, Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at the residence of a son Mark Shaffer. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Andrew Earl and Virgie Nave Shaffer. He was a 1958 graduate of Elizabethton High School. He was a Carpenter. Mr. Shaffer was a member of the Old Horseshoe Free Will Baptist Church. He loved to play the Guitar and sing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife: Sally Oaks Shaffer.
Survivors include his wife: Connie Miles Sheets. Two Sons: John Mark Shaffer and wife Debbie and Phillip Dean Shaffer, Jr. and wife Robin all of Elizabethton. Three Grandchildren: Sara, John and Chris. Four Great Grandchildren: Elijah, Kelsie, Tyler and MaKinnzie. Three Sisters: Olive Case, Delores Heaton and Ruby Vance.
Graveside Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, October 24, 2014 in the Pierce Cemetery (Siam Community) with the Rev. Steve Williams officiating. Burial will follow the service. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Friday prior to the graveside service. Condolences may be e-mailed to mfc@chartertn.net.
