Phillip Dean Shaffer, Jr., 62, Elizabethton, passed away Monday, May 22, 2023 in the Select Specialty Hospital, Bristol. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Phillip Dean Shaffer, Sr., and Sally Oaks Shaffer. He was a graduate of Hampton High School. He was a Carpenter and Maintenance  having work at Williams Electric for several years.. He loved to make things. He was a Christian. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife: Robin Dawn Lewis Shaffer.

Survivors include his wife: Susan Hancotte Shaffer. Four Step-Children: Susan Marsh, John Marsh, Jr., Dawn Marsh and Shawn Marsh. Seven Step Grandchildren and three step-Great Grandchildren. One Brother: Mark Shaffer and wife Debbie. Two Nephews: John Shaffer, Jr., and Christopher Shaffer. One Niece: Sara Holder.

Graveside Service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 27, 2023 in the Pierce Cemetery (Siam Community) with Pastor Dennis Peterson officiating Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
