Phillip Ellison, 92, Johnson City, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2014 in the Life Care Center of Elizabethton. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Alfred & Julie Miller Ellison. He was retired from the Pepsi Cola Company, Johnson City. Mr. Ellison was a member of the Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Jessie Grindstaff Ellison. Three sisters: Bessie McCracken, Vergie Ellison and Grace Willis and one brother: Earnest Ellison.
Survivors include his Nieces: Faye Jenkins and husband Harold, Johnson City, Betty Feimster and husband Stanley, Morganton, North Carolina, June McCracken, Gray, Goldie Hicks and husband Earnest, Elizabethton. One Nephew: Bobby Ellison and wife Susan, Hampton.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, October 10, 2014 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Paul Crowe officiating. Interment will follow in the Captain Nelson Cemetery (Ripshin Mountain). Active Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday prior to the service. The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to the staff of Life Care Center of Elizabethton.
