Patsy Austin Mullis, age 84 of Johnson City passed away on June 12, 2024 at the residence of her great niece, Becky Townsend Payne. Patsy was born on November 7, 1939 to the late G.C. & Lois Austin. Patsy had operated several restaurants through the years, Hoppy's, Elizabethton Golf Course Grill and Elizabethton Elks. Patsy was Baptized at an early age and was of the Free Will Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ralph Mullis, her only child; William Eddie Miller, her siblings: Mildred Austin Harrell and Charles Ray Austin, four nephews: also preceded her in death, Ron Harrell, Chad McKeehan, Bill Austin and Charles Ray Austin, Jr.
Patsy is survived by her Grandchildren: Hunter Miller and Paige Miller of St. Louis, Missouri. Her First Great Grandchild is due October 2024. Three Nieces also survive: Regina Tucker of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, Patti Townsend of Johnson City and Connie Hicks Collins of Elizabethton. Several great nieces and nephews survive including one very special to her, Becky Townsend Payne. Becky was her care giver during the past few months and let her pass away at home as she desired. Patsy had several great great nieces and nephews that were dear to her. Her great great nieces, Kimberlyn and Azariah Payne and three Great Great nephews, Luke Wandel, Dayton and Zedekiah Payne took great pride in helping take care of Aunt Pat, of course Aunt Pat always kept Pepsi and Herschey Chocolates for her five babies. A special cousin Sue Arnett and her family also survive.
The Service for Patsy will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2024 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Todd Wolfe, Minister officiating. Interment will follow in the Centerview Cemetery. Music will be provided by Susie Wolfe. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Chris & Neil Arnett, Gregory Chambers, Bobby Miller, Dayton Payne and Luke Wandal. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service.
