Pat Kenneth Hopson, age 94, Elizabethton went home to be with his Lord, Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Ivy Hall Nursing Home. He was born April 1, 1932, in Elk Park, North Carolina to the late Abe and Macie Cook Hopson. Pat proudly served his country in the United States Army for two years. He was a gifted and dedicated Gospel Singer who touched countless lives through his music. Pat Sang with Sacred Journey from 1965 to 1968, followed by the Happy Way Quartet from 1969 to 1981. He later shared his talents with the Good News in Kingsport and the Gospel Harmonies. His final years of singing was spent with the Sacred Harmony which was the last group he sang with before retiring.
Pat will be remembered for his kind heart, his dedication to his faith and the lasting impact of his music. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the gospel he so faithfully shared. He was a member of Blevins Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. He loved to read, go hunting and camping. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years: Dorothy Hicks Hopson who passed away March 19, 2025.
He is survived by one daughter; Jannie Nicholas, Two Sisters: Donna (Danny) Odom and Anita Pritchard. One Brother: Walter (Linda) Hopson.
A Service to Celebrate the life of Pat will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2026, in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Tull Oaks officiating. Graveside Service will be conducted at Mountain Home National Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday prior to the service. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Ivy Hall Nursing Home who showed much love and care to Pat and he for them.
