Orah Lee (Oakes) Andrews, 80, of 133 Dye Leaf Road, Butler, TN, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 14th 2023, following a brief illness. Orah Lee was born on September 29th 1943 to the late Dayton Brownlow (Jack) and Cleo Daisy (Potter) Oakes. Orah Lee was a member of Piney Grove Church of Christ. She retired from Shadowline Corp, and was a contributor to the community newsletter, The Poga Gazette. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, of 62 years, Claude Frankford Andrews, an infant son, Dayton Joseph (Joey) Andrews, brothers Roger and Tommy Oakes, a sister, Brenda Banks, Father-in-Law, Joe Andrews and Mother-in-Law, Myrtle (Clawson) Andrews.

Orah Lee was 100 pounds of pure sass. Having an adage for everything, her favorite was "Dynamite comes in small packages" when referring to her own stature. She loved to sew and make crafts. Her favorite of which was to crochet, a talent that she taught to many within the community. She had a huge, generous heart and a desire to help others, whether it was delivering food boxes to the elderly and shut-ins or something as simple as subscribing to magazines to give to her granddaughters-in-law. She enjoyed visiting with friends, and she greeted everyone with a sweet smile.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Julia (Freddy) Lewis and Michael (Rachel) Andrews; Grandchildren Brent (Taylor) Tipton, Joseph (Caitlin) Andrews, Matthew (Courtney) Tipton, AJ (Mackenzie) Andrews, Olivia, Leighlee, Pippin, and Punky Andrews, and Cody Waldroup. Great-grandchildren, Ashton, Mila, Tate and Jack; Brothers Kenneth (Carolyn), Rudy (Susie), Larry (Louise) and Terry (Pam) Oakes; Sisters Jackie (Oscar) Thomas and Sandra (Allen) Henson; a treasured friend, of many years, Geneva (Lunceford) Clawson.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 17th from 4:30-6:00 at Memorial Funeral Chapel, in Elizabethton, TN. A graveside service will be held at the Isaacs Cemetary, Buck Mountain, TN at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be Orah Lee's grandsons.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Stephanie, Amanda, and the nurses and staff in the Surgical Care Unit at Sycamore Shoals hospital, to Dr. Jared Hess and Dr. Victoria Shankle, State of Franklin Medical Associates, and to Ashley, Miranda, and the staff of Caris Hospice for the wonderful care of our mother and for the patience and understanding extended to the us during this time. Orah Lee's children would also like to extend our forever gratefulness to our mother, for taking us to church even when we didn't want to go, which taught us of God's promise that we will all be together again, someday.
