Norma Jean Edens White, 88, Elizabethton, passed away Friday February 2, 2024

in the Ivy Hall Nursing Home. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Harrison & Annie Maude Sims Edens. She was a graduate of Happy Valley High School. Jean retired from United Telephone Service with 44 years of service. She was a faithful member of Grandview Christian Church in Johnson City.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Phil White; Five brothers: Donald, Ralph, Jack, Harold and Tom Edens; four sisters: Ann Valentine, Hazel Holden, Wilma Montgomery and Nancy Alsup; a sister-in-law: Kay Edens.

Survivors include her nieces & nephews: Carolyn (Buddy) Dawson, Mark (Anna) Edens, Beth (Larry) Tester; Eden Tester: Jackie(Larry) Bray, Susan (Mike) Wester, Kirk (Janie) Edens, Sandy (Mike) Peacock, Monty Montgomeery, Tommy (Nancy) Burleson, several loving nieces and nephews from her late husband Phil's family and a special cousin: Sharon Campbell.

Graveside Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, February 12, 2024 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery (Historic Section) with Pastor Aaron Wymer officiating. Active Pallbearers will be: Tommy Burleson, Mark Edens, Donald McKeehan, Luther McKeehan, Larry Tester and Mike White. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Jeff Campbell, Buddy Dawson, Tim Dawson, Andrew McKeehan, Jeff Murray and Richard Thompson. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Grandview Christian Church, 300 University Parkway, Johnson City, Tenn. 37604. Special thanks to the staff of Ivy Hall Nursing Home for their loving care. Friends may register their presence at the funeral home Saturday, February 10, 2024 or Sunday February 11, 2024.
