Michael K. Shell, Elizabethton, passed away on February 4th, 2024, at Life care center in Gray, Tennessee following an extended illness.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar K Shell, jr and Ellen "Bunny" Shell of Elizabethton, a sister, Lisa Kay Frost, and a brother, Mark (Tony) A Shell.  Survivors include two brothers, Jon K Shell of Elizabethton, and Jeffrey L Shell, Dandridge, Tennessee.

Mike graduated from Unaka High School and was editor of the school yearbook. He was salutatorian of his class in 1970 and voted "most likely to succeed" by his classmates.  An ETSU graduate with honors, Mike majored in molecular biology and worked at Carter County Memorial Hospital in Elizabethton, Tennessee.  After graduating from ETSU, Mike attended UT Medical School in Memphis.

Mike traveled everywhere and had many friends, family, nieces, and nephews.  He also loved the caregivers at Life Care Center in Gray, and they loved him.
