Michael Lynson Garland, 76, Elizabethton, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2024 at his residence. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Raleigh & Luthenia Garland. He was a graduate of Unaka High School. He loved working with wood work and go camping He was a member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter: Wendy Garland.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years: Linda Powell Garland. A Granddaughter: Sierra Buckles. His Great Grandchildren: Payton Buckles, Aldlynn Buckles, and Avery Buckles . One Sister: Patsy (Earl) Coup and Lillie Burke. His Sisters & Brothers-in-Law: Phyllis (Glen) Crain, Cleo Hicks, Brenda Rasmussen and Randy & Pooner Powell.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2024 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Eric Wright officiating. Graveside Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Garland Cemetery. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Thursday will be: Melvin Myers, Kimmy Stout, Kevin Stout, Rondal Lowe, Randy Powell, David Myers and Dennis Grindstaff. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p;.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery.
