Mary Alice Kachelries, 75, went to be with the Lord on September 24, 2026, at the Waters of Bristol in Bristol, TN after a long illness. She is preceded in death by her Husband, Charles Jon Kachelries, her parents, George Edward and Virginia Marie Shaw Burgess, her brother, Thomas Lee Burgess and her sister, Christy Lynn Cordell.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Lawrence Thomas Powell of Jolo, West Virginia, daughter, Margaret Christina (Keith) Couch of Bluefield, West Virginia, a daughter, Tanya Leanne (Steve) VanScoy of Wheelersburg, Ohio. She also has five grandchildren, William Keith Couch, Jr, Karen Louise (Nathan) Wyatt, Stephen Michael (Erica) VanScoy II, Clinton Michael (Kenzie) VanScoy, and Ashleigh Grace VanScoy and two great grandchildren Amelia Gale Wyatt and Obi VanScoy; a sister Sally Marie Burgess of Bluefield, WV and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
