Mary Sue Oliver Carter, 78, Elizabethton, passed away Friday, October 23, 2026 in the Johnson City Medical Center. She was born May 25, 1948 in Carter County to the late Roy J. & Ora Woods Oliver. She was a homemaker. She loved camping, fishing and go on Vacations to Florida in the winter time. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Eulace Carter, Jr., by a son: Russell Travis Carter, a sister: Linda Oliver Rainbolt and a nephew: David Christian Owens.

Survivors include her Daughters: Penny and Melissa Carter. One Grandson: Preston Carter and wife Jessica. Three Great Grandchildren: Jaden, Aries and Laken Carter. One Sister: Janie Oliver, One Nephew: Daniel Owens. A Great Niece & Nephew: Corey and Cameron.

Graveside Service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 29, 2026 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery (Historic Section) with Mr. Ernie Depew, Minister officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 12:50 p.m. Thursday.
