Marvin Richard "Chick" Collins, 82, Butler went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 5, 2025. He was born September 30, 1942 in Bryson City, North Carolina to the late Josephine Lowe. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years Martha Jean Collins and also a daughter Amy Jo Collins.

Richard was a retired carpenter. He bravely served his country for 6 years in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Richard's greatest joy was time spent with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed being outside watching wildlife, gardening, golfing and playing with his dogs.

He is survived by two sisters & One Brother: Marilyn (Larry) Gragg, Linda (Gwyn) Hamby, and Terry (Cindy) Collins.. Two Sons: Samuel Richard "Peeper" (Sara) Collins, and Benjamin Spencer (Kristie) Collins, Two Bonus Daughters: Ann Michelle (Michael) Odom and Rachel Leigh Ray. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great nieces and  nephews.

Graveside Service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, September 12, 2025 in the Crosswhite Cemetery with his son-in-law Michael Odom officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Amedisys Hospice and the staff of Lakebridge. Friends may assemble at the cemetery at 12:50 a.m. Friday.
