Martha Dean Arnett Cress, 83, Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord, Friday, December 1, 2023 at Ivy Hall Nursing Home. A native of Carter County, she was a
daughter of the late Thomas & Daly Stevens Arnett. She was a homemaker and loved taking care of her great grandchildren. She loved to sew. Until here illness she was active in her church, Riverview Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: James Cress and a son: Jeffrey Riddle.
Survivors include her children: Zedia Hall & husband Austin, Melvin Riddle and friend Susan and Michelle Laws & Husband Doug. Two Grandchildren: Kelli Taylor and Reann Hall. Four Great Grandchildren: Jared Stanley, Jaden Taylor, Calliah Taylor and a very special great grandchild: Jace Taylor. One Brother: Mark Arnett and one sister: Helen Riddle. Several nieces & nephews. Also her special friends: Rick & Glenna Hardin.
A Service to Celebrate the Life of Martha Cress will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2023 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Mark Grubb officiating. Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music will be by Mr. Austin Hall. Active Pallbearers will be: Jaden Taylor, Jared Stanley, Will Taylor, Doug Laws, Jimmy Guinn, Coy Clark and Richard Hill. Honorary Pallbearers will be her church family. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Ivy Hall Nursing Home especially Haylee & Christi. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Mrs Cress to the Riverview Baptist Church Youth Group, 1419 Broad Street, Elizabethton, Tenn. 37643 Condolences may be sent to the family at our web-site www.memorialfcelizabethton.com
