Mark Stephen Smith, 68, Unicoi, passed away Friday, February 13, 2026 at his residence. He was born December 20, 1957 in Johnson City to the late Walter and Rose Moore Smith. He was a graduate of Science Hill High School and East Tennessee State University with a Masters Degree. He was a Social Worker.

Survivors include his daughter & son-in- law: Victoria & David Shankle. Three Grandchildren: David Robert Shankle, Emma Shankle and Edmund Shankle. His Siblings: Lisa Johnson, William Phillip Smith, Walter Smith, Douglas Smith and Shawn Smith.

Graveside Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, February 20, 2026 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. With Pastor Ken Bewley officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
