Mark Luther Baird, 56, Butler, passed away on October 14, 2024 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Mark is the son of Jerry Baird of Carter County, TN. He was born in Banner Elk, NC but has spent most of his life in Carter County. He is preceded in death by his wife, Melissa Brooks Baird; his mother, Shirley Nunley Baird; a daughter: Grace Anna Baird and a brother: Brian Baird.

Mark was 86 Graduate of Hampton High School & 1990 Graduate of ETSU with CPA. Mark played basketball for Hampton Bulldogs where he won Upper East Tennessee player of the year award his senior year. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and made a career as a Stone Mason with many of his works featured in magazines. Mark loved spending time with his family and grandchildren He loved watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Vols.

Survivors include: daughter: Haley Wilder (Joey); father and step-mother: Jerry Baird and Anna brother: Richard Baird (Tracy); grandchildren: Jackson Wilder, Cooper Wilder, Evan Wilder, Maddy Tackett, Abigail and Akira Baird and Nephews: Tyler Baird, Coen Powell (Maddy) Kennedy Powell and Caden Powell

A service will be held at Memorial Funeral Chapel at 12 p.m. Noon on Sunday, October 20, 2024 with the Rev. Charlie Trivett, officiating. The Family will receive friends from 11a.m.- 12 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at Nunley Cemetery on Poga Rd. following the service.
