Lynda Gayle Leach Heaton, 84, Elizabethton went to be with her Lord and her husband Sherrill Heaton Thursday, August 6, 2026 at the Hospice House, Bristol Her husband passed away July 6, 2026. She was born July 31, 1942 in Johnson City to the late J. Kyle and Margaret Dyer Leach. Gayle was a graduate of Science Hill High School and attended East Tennessee State University. She was employed for 38 years as a Secretary for the Elizabethton City School System. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church. Gayle loved to paint.

Survivors include her son & daughter-in-law: Scott & Penny Heaton. Three Grandchildren: Logan Heaton, Cody Harding & fiance Heather Allen, andLacey Stanley and husband Derek. Two Great Grandchildren: Octavia Harding and Cohen Harding. Her Brother & Sister-in-Law; Gregory & Linda Leach.

Graveside Service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2026 in Happy Valley Memorial Park with Dr. Travis Tyler officiating. Music will be by: Laura Seagrove. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2026 will be: Logan Heaton, Cody Harding, Derek Stanley, Richard Simpson, Nick Andes and Brayden Garland. The family would like to express a special thank you to Heather and husband Nick Andes and Lisa and Richard Simpson.
