Lula Belle Street, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday October 2, 2025. She was born on September 5, 1940, in the Carden's Bluff area to her parents James Albert and Rhoda Nell (Pierce) Smith who preceded her in death. Lula Belle was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard Street, brother Erby "Bud" Smith, sisters Beulah Aldridge, Shirley Whitehead, and Gail Hodges, sisters-in-law Doris Smith and Joyce Senesi, and brothers-in-law Monty Aldridge, Dino Senesi, Wayne Jones and Harold Street.

She is survived by her children: Joe Street (Kristi), Jan Back (Greg), and Jill Marks (Jerry). Grandchildren: Jacob Street, Landen Street, Weston Street, Beth McClain (Adam), Jude Hickman and fiancée Kaitlyn, Nicholas Kennedy, Vanessa Kennedy, and Olivia Marks. Also, one precious great-granddaughter Paisley McClain. She is also survived by her brothers Jack Smith (Edna), and James "Tip" Smith, as well as in-laws Russ Hodges, Terry Whitehead, Sandra Street, and Roberta Jones. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family also cherish her memory.

Lula Belle lived her life with a faith that was as steady as it was deep. She was a member of Sally Cove Creek Community Church. Lula Belle also held a special place for Pearce's Chapel Freewill Baptist Church and Little Doe Freewill Baptist Church where she joyfully studied and shared Scripture. Her tremendous knowledge of the Bible and her excitement to teach it inspired everyone who knew her. She not only read and studied the Word, she lived it daily.

She graduated from Hampton High School in 1958. She was also a graduate of Northeastern Bible College and Mercer Hospital College of Nursing, she combined her love for God's Word with her passion for nursing and teaching. As a Registered Nurse, she served with compassion at Carter County Memorial Hospital, as a Carter County School Nurse, as a teacher at Tennessee College of Applied Technology and as a teacher of continuing education for nursing homes, and assisted living centers across the area. She later volunteered as a Chaplain with Ballad Health and with the No Veteran Dies Alone program at the VA Medical Center, always offering love, encouragement, and Christ-centered comfort to others.

Yet, of all her callings, her greatest joy was being a mother and "Meme." Lula Belle poured her heart into her family, raising her children in the faith and surrounding her grandchildren with unconditional love. She taught by example, showing them what it meant to walk with Jesus through her kindness, her gentle strength, and her servant's heart.

Above all, Lula Belle will be remembered as a virtuous woman who loved her family, loved the Bible, loved nursing, and loved teaching. Her legacy of faith, devotion, and love will live on in the lives of her children, grandchildren, great grandchild and all those she touched with her kindness and wisdom.

A Service to Celebrate the life of Lula Belle Street will be conducted at 7 p.m. Sunday, October 5, 2025, with Pastor Shane Waters and Chris Hughes officiating. The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Sunday prior to the service and anytime at the home of her son, Joe. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 1:20 pm Monday October 6, 2025 to go in procession to the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers are Jacob Street and Jerry Marks.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in her honor.
