Obituary

It is with great sadness but great rejoicing that we announce that Lorie Ann (Stanton) Tester, 64, of Elizabethton, went to be with the Lord on Monday June 22, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was born June 23,1961 to the late Wendell Stanton and Shirley Rupard in Johnson City, TN.

Lorie loved to crochet and make things for everyone she loved. She also loved to cook and spend time with her family. She loved to be called the “redneck grammy.”

She was proceeded in death by her love Randy Lee Tester of 41 years, her grandparents Henry and Mary Stanton and Ronder and Martha Short, brother Wendell James Wood, sister Jessie Stevens, a special aunt Helen Roop, and a great-nephew Christopher Jaden Fair.

Survivors include her daughter Sandra Elizabeth (Tester) Van Gerpen and husband Matthew Van Gerpen, her son Christopher Lee Tester and wife Jessica (Hilbert) Tester. She leaves behind 5 loves of her life, her grandchildren, Anna Rose, Isaiah Matthew, Olivia Joy, Eva Elisabeth, and Joleigh Danielle. There was nothing that she would not do for them! Her siblings include Connie Stanton, Tina Woods, Wendy Tucker, Sarah Rose Burgents and husband Matt (Quarryville, PA), Michelle Lynn Stephens (Kennet Square, PA), Michael James Stanton and wife Deanna (Oxford, PA), Becky Jones and husband Jaime (Limestone, TN). She also had a wonderful stepmother, Diana Sue (England) Stanton and a special friend Ricky Richardson.

She had several nieces, nephews, and several great nieces and nephews. Lorie loved her children and grandchildren with ALL HER HEART!

Funeral services for Lorie Ann Tester will be conducted at 4pm on Sunday June 28, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Grant Foster, minister, officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-4pm Sunday at the funeral home.

The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the ER dept and the 2700 wing of the ICU at Johnson City Medical Center. It was her wish to be cremated following the funeral service. Condolences may be sent to the family at our web-site www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
