Obituary

Lois Ann Ollis Whittington Rabb, 95, of Marion, NC passed away Sunday, August 30, 2026 at her residence. She was born on December 31, 1930 in Avery County to the late Walter Brownlow Ollis & Bertha Julian Ollis. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Tom C. Whittington & Guy C. Rabb, five siblings, Alberta Connell, Ray Ollis, Ludella Carter, Bob Ollis, and Joe Ollis, great grandchild Lilly Stancato, and son in law, James Finley and loved ones from the Rabb family.

She is survived by three siblings, Brownell Allman, Grace Calhoun & Jean Honeycutt (Gene). Two Children: Brenda Finley, Marion, North Carolina, and Mitzi Bess (Doug), Belmont, NC. Three grandchildren:Felicia Stanco (Paul) IL, Jamie Finley Jr. HI, Ansley Rick (Thomas) Mt. Holly, NC, James Rabb, Marion, NC, Step-Daughter-in-law; Sandi Rabb, Marion, NC, great grandchildren< Jet, Georgia and Tiger Finley, Hi, Jayden Rick, NC, and othe loved ones from the Rabb family.

Lois enjoyed arts and crafts, crocheting, singing, playing the piano at home & church and dancing. She taught at McDowell Tech, led a senior singint group in her sixties called the Young Set, played the piano in a bluegrass band in her eighties, had a green thumb, and made delicious meals. Her encouragement and her nonjudgmental heart was a blessing to all who knew her.

A Service to Celebrate the life of Lois will be held on Saturday September 5th, 2026 at First Baptist Church of Cranberry, North Carolina, 5870 N. 19E, Newland, NC. With Pastor Gene Honeycutt officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Cranberry Cemetery with Pastor David Burnop officiating. Music will be provided by Felicia Finley, The Ollis Family and Michael Barnop. Active Pallbearers will be Dr. James Finley, Jr., Jeremy Honeycutt, Eddie Ollis, Thomas Rick, Jayden Rick, James Rabb, Jet Finley and Doug Bess.
