Lois Leona Hathaway McKinney, 94, Hampton, passed away Monday, June 29, 2026 at her residence. She was born January 28, 1932 in Elizabethton, to the late Robert Eugene and Nola Benfield Hathaway. She was a homemaker, loved to paint, sew, gardening and flowers. She was a member of the Blevins Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Rollo McKinney, a son: Randy McKinney, One Sister: Helen Hathaway and Six Brothers: Carl Ray, Ralph, Dan, Joe, Charlie and John Hathaway.

Survivors include her daughters: Joan (Danny) Jones and Jan (Fred) Simerly. A Daughter-in-Law: Judy McKinney. One grandson: Jamie (Marti) McKinney and one granddaughter: Lindsey (Sam) Blevins. Three Great Grandchildren: Daniel (Jessica) McKinney, Katie (Josh) Adams and Evie Blevins. And four great great grandchildren: Carmindy, Jaxson, Rhett and Raelynn. Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 12 Noon Thursday, July 2, 2026 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Brian Cable officiating. Interment will follow in the Hathaway Cemetery with Mr. Josh Adams officiating. Active Pallbearers will be: Daniel McKinney, Jamie McKinney, Fred Simerly, Danny Jones, Sam Blevins and Mark Berry. The family would like to express a special thank you to the Staff at Sycamore Shoals Hospital, The Staff of Amedisys Hospice and her family and friends for the excellent care she receive.
