Lisa Kay Sams, a cherished 58-year-old from Elizabethton, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 1, 2026, to be with her Lord and Savior. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, Nana, and great Nana.

Lisa was preceded in death by her stepfather, Jerry Freeman, and her grandparents, Dana and Blanche Dykes, as well as Mitch and Rose Sams.

She is survived by her boyfriend, Dave Morrell, her mother, Kay Freeman, her father, Roscoe Sams, wife Becky, her children, Michael  and LeAnne Scalf, her brothers, Joey Sams and wife Leann, Keith Sams and wife Debbie, her grandchildren, Maliah, Skyler, Aleesha, Natalie, Draven, Zackary, and Autumn, and her great-grandchildren, Kinslee, Willow, and Azalea.

Lisa enjoyed spending time in the woods digging ginseng, a pastime that connected her to nature and brought her peace.

In her final moments, she found comfort in John 14:1-3: "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am there you may be also."

A service is being held The Midst located at 2506 South Roan Street, Johnson City, TN 37601 on February 21, 2026 at 1 p.m. The family will receive friends and family from 12-1 p.m. Prior to the service. Condolences may be sent to the family at our website: www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
